Superb Breech Loading Underlever High Art SxS shotgun by LePage. Consigned by a top French collector who states this gun was gifted by Napoleon III to his secretary and purchased from his heirs (Letter of provenance included). The gun measures 49” overall with 32 1/2” barrels of 16GA. The action and frame is deep relief scroll engraved with gold inlays of hunting scenes, dogs and game. The breech is gold banded and fancy inlaid with makers name and address “Paris Liege”. The gun is stocked in burled walnut and nicely checkered. The condition is near fine overall with minor storage marks and slight scratches in wood. A fine piece worthy of presentation to a valued associate by Napoleon III. (Antique) Est.: $8000-$16000
